Coronavirus: Governor Masari orders closure of land borders with 4 States and Niger Republic


Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has ordered the closure of all land borders with neighbouring states and Niger Republic, in a bid to curb the possible spread of coronavirus in the state.
Masari who ordered the closure of  borders with Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and Zamfara, and with the Republic of Niger to the north, also placed a ban on large gathering in public and religious centers.

The Katsina State Governor who stated that movement of people into the state is strictly prohibited with effect from 6:00 am on Saturday March 28, added that fuel tankers and vehicles carrying food items and other essential commodities will be allowed into the state subject to screening and test at the point of entry. People are however at liberty to move within the state.
